Conducting research since 1975

The Plantation Management Research Cooperative began conducting research to develop modern plantation management tools in 1975. The availability of computing power to address large scheduling and management problems highlighted the need for growth and yield systems that were modeled on the plantation silviculture that was replacing the natural stands of the time. We are convinced that the development and improvement of systems to model the growth and yield of managed stands under various cultural treatments must be a continuous and permanent component of the cooperative research program.
